Hydron Technology

Hydron employs a groundbreaking desalination technology that utilizes specialized absorbents to extract clean water from contaminated sources. We offer the only technology capable of delivering a zero-liquid discharge system for high concentration brines.

3 simple steps

  • 01

A directional solvent is introduced to saline water, selectively dissolving water molecules while leaving salts and impurities behind.

  • 02

Freshwater is separated from the solvent through controlled heating, allowing the solvent to be regenerated and reused.

  • 03

The resulting brine is minimized, solvent recycled.

Through rigorous optimization, testing, and data science we are continually driving down the lifetime cost of treatment.

HYDRON TECHNOLOGY

Built for Impact

Our solvent-based method is the most cost-effective treatment for complex brines. We reduce the need for freshwater in the most water-intensive sectors, allowing us to increase the total allocation of freshwater where it is needed most – human consumption.

  • Lowest CapEx

Inherently low CAPEX due to streamlined and efficient design.

  • Lowest OpEx

Completely automated operations and minimal energy requirement offers lowest opex of any desalination technology.

  • Performance Guarantee

High confidence in the design, backed by extensive testing and thorough analysis.

  • Customizable scale

Modular units for rotation between sites or large permanent installations for lowest LCOW.

Our mission

Rethinking desalination

Conventional desalination has long emphasized producing drinking water from seawater. However, this approach overlooks that the leading consumers of freshwater are agricultural, energy, extractive, and industrial processes. These sectors often do not require fresh water, but existing solutions are not designed to create fit-for-purpose water.

World leaders in water treatment

Working with best-in-class engineers and researchers, we have developed the first cost-effective “purpose-driven” desalination system, specifically designed to tackle complex water challenges.

Through scalable recycling and reuse, we dramatically increase fresh water allocation, prioritizing it for drinking.
